The recommended process for installing Examplify on student machines is as follows:

  1. Check the student’s machine and verify it meets all system requirements.

  1. Install any needed Operating System upgrades

  1. Download the Examplify Installer from the following URL: https://examsoft.force.com/etcommunity/s/article/Examplify-Downloading-for-Windows-Mac it can also be found in Landesk "\\landesk95\Installs\Packages\Lab Refresh Software\Examsoft"

  1. Install Examplify. The latest version as of 2/19/20 is 2.1.0

  2. While Examplify is installing, verify the student has their User ID and password. If they are a new Nursing student, an email should have been sent to their MSMC email with a link to create their account.

  1. Once Examplify finishes installing, go through the on-screen prompts. For the institution ID type MSMC and choose Mount Saint Mary College from the drop-down menu.

  1. Have the student sign-in with their account credentials. Once signed-in they should see their classes and any exams available for download.

Troubleshooting Examplify:

When taking an Examplify test, the program restricts network access, changes the user’s desktop background, controls which applications can launch and overall restricts the user from doing anything the program considers a cheating risk.

One common issue that arises from this is the user’s desktop background remains stuck as the Examplify wallpaper or as a black screen. The way to resolve this is by opening the registry editor and navigating to the following location

“HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software ->Microsoft -> Windows ->CurrentVersion -> Policies -> System.”

In the system folder you should see a “wallpaper” key, delete this and restart the computer you should now be able to change the wallpaper again. If no “wallpaper” key is found you should be able to change the wallpaper without any issues.

--------

At the start of each semester all incoming nursing students are given an Examplify account which they validate via an email they receive to their MSMC email.

If the student is unable to locate the email or the link is no longer valid. Christine Berte and Susan LaRocco are site Examsoft Admins and should be able to resend the email for the student. In a pinch Linda Kelly is also an Examsoft Admin.

------

If a student is unable to install Examplify on their machine. Aquinas 212 and the Disability Testing Center are configured to have Examplify on them.

If a student is taking an Examplify Exam in either of these locations after completion of the test. They must either “Sign out” or unregister the session by going to “Home Menu - Settings - Clear Registration”

------

As of 2.19.20 there is an ongoing issue with Examplify, where the program will immediately crash after being launched. Currently we have an open support ticket with Examsoft and their Dev team is investigating the bug.

But if students come to us with the issue advise them to reach out to Examsoft support (866-429-8889) and reference “Examplify Quit Unexpectedly due to HLT 3010-03:SP20”.

The current workaround Examsoft implenments is removing “glitched classes” or removing all the student’s classes then re-adding them.
